This month at GFIS we are focusing on what the benefits are of working with an insurance agent versus finding quotes on your own. Until recently, I always found my insurance policies through third-party websites which led to an abundant flow of calls and emails from different companies or I would remember what commercial I saw and go on their website for a free quote. I recently took a poll on our Facebook page and found that 50% of participants have not worked with an insurance agent before. I think it’s safe for me to say that most people have had experiences like I have.
So what are the benefits of working with an insurance agent? For me personally, the number one benefit was that I no longer had my phone blowing up with phone calls or having my email flooded with quotes. When you work with an insurance agent they handle all the searching, all the comparing, and offer you the best policies that would best fit your needs and if budget is of concern, what policies would fit your budget.
How does an insurance agent provide me with quotes? Well they start with asking personal and financial questions to gauge what policies would best suit the needs you have. Now the search begins in finding you the best suited policy and offering you choices. In our case, GFIS has the privilege of working with hundreds of affiliate companies which allows us to broaden our search in finding the most competitive company that suits your needs and budget. Then the narrowed down choices are presented to you allowing you to make a decision with less stress and peace of mind.
Going back to my original experience and comparing it to working with an insurance agent, what are the most notable changes? First off, time. An insurance agent gives you back your time from searching, to answering your phone and replying to emails. Second, they are knowledgeable on laws making sure that your policy is compliant and will fill your needs. Lastly, working with GFIS’s in-house insurance agent you will get a person-to-person relationship. Someone who has your best interest as the main priority and is available for you all year long.
