Avoid costly mistakes

I was recently registering a gift online and the website provided me with instructions on how to find the serial number on my product. Simple enough I thought! So I proceeded to follow the instructions, but didn’t find the serial number. I ended up finding the serial number on accident by removing an easy part and at that point I realized I read the wrong instructions.

Many times, when you are searching for an insurance policy you might be like me, read the wrong information and that can drastically change your quote price or you could become uninsurable from that company. When you work with an experienced and knowledgeable insurance agent, they make sure that you don’t read anything wrong. I played soccer growing up and I can relate working with an insurance agent to having a coach. They will guide you through choosing the best policy and placing you in the best position allowing you to receive the maximum benefits. If a mistake happens on the field a coach can help you see the mistake, provide feedback to fix it and allow you to continue on. Having an insurance agent by your side acts in the same way and best of all, it’s free! I personally asked our in-house insurance agent, Patty Hjort (License: 0I97391) a couple questions that I think tend to be silent questions.

Here a couple questions that I personally asked:

1.  Is working with an insurance agent free?

“Yes, working with an insurance agent is free for gathering the information needed to suggest an insurance policy that is best suited for the client.  The insurance policy is not free.”

2.  Do I pay the insurance agent the monthly insurance premium?

“No, the monthly insurance premium is paid to the insurance company that holds the insurance policy you purchased.”

To conclude the benefits of working with an insurance agent, I found an article that I think sums it all up. In the article there is a quote that I want to highlight and it says, “you have a trained professional working for you, instead of the insurance company.” (Financial Web) What this means to you is, your insurance agent is on your side and sees to it that your best interests are the first priority, not the company that holds your policy.
